Online Dating

Love or fuxe!

So I just got back from my friends wedding! They met online and this is officially the 5th couple I’ve had in my life that has gone through the motion of being in love with another human.

so I decided to jump into the pool… apparently the first fish that tried to catch me was a sardine… you know not everyone likes sardines. Especially when they are fishy…

and all I can tell you is make sure that you stay on the app until you feel better, have gotten to know them.. and make sure that you give your place in how you are treated. Thank Goodness I followed my instincts!! Because! People will be people and act like fishies!

but enough about that! Here are some tips for online dating!

  1. Follow your instincts.
  2. Read the safety manual on all sites. Every site will tell you and give you hints in what not to do and how not to get enveloped in a hardship… I mean relationships. 😜
  3. Verify yourself. and talk to people who are also verified.
  4. Ask for what you do allow and set limits on what you don’t allow in your life.
if you like short people then talk to short people. If you like giant people because tbey can make you feel safe…. Then Date gigantor!
  5. and Be yourself. The more you are you, the more you practice on being the real you with everyone.
  6. Have fun and attract people filled with joy! Because you are worth it!
  7. Go to sleep! Maintain your healthy habits! People who really want to talk to you will do so and respect your time.
  8. Don’t wait too long to long to go on a date.
  9. Do not give people money! If they ask- it could be a person trying to steal stuff. It’s like rule number one but I didn’t want to scare you until now… I mean well not at all… just caution you if being too nice to people sad stories.
  10. and last but not least- please post current pictures! Ain’t no one trying to date you from ten years ago! We want to see the black and white hair ya! Show them Chomps! And be happy!

Make it fun to explore,

Enjoy the process!
-Jes

and yes I’m still single ya! Smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ me! Lol

Health Insurance Words… What Do They Mean? #ABCenEspanol (English & Spanish)

Every tried to find out what the health companies and insurance companies are talking about when they say ‘certain’ words? Well, there is a site that gives you a glossary of all the medical terminology these companies are using. WHY? because there are people that actually care about what they are putting out there…

http://accessbettercoverage.org/about-access-better-coverage

Here are some words: Glossary

“Combined deductible

A deductible – total amount a patient must pay out of pocket annually before the health plan begins to pay – that includes both medical care and prescription medicines. This amount does not include premiums. For example, if a deductible is $1,000, the health plan won’t pay anything for most health care until a patient pays $1,000 out of pocket.

Copay

A copay is a fixed amount – or flat fee – a patient is responsible for paying with his or her own money (out of pocket) for certain services or medicines. Plans specify what this amount will be for a variety of health-related services, such as a doctor or specialist visit, emergency room visit or prescription medications. Copays are determined by health insurance plans and are often printed on health insurance cards.

Cost sharing

The amount insurance plans require patients to pay out of their own pocket. For example, copays, coinsurance and deductibles.

Working Out & Therapy

Therapy is a process where you are Asked to be Committed for a few months to work on you, emotionally and in other ways. Most often therapist will also ask you about your physical health regimen. Usually they will ask you to get a physical and begin to hit the gym or nature for walks. But why?

Here are some reasons why Working out and Therapy work well together.

  1. Our minds run based on what we give our body. We feed it trash, we feel like trash. We feed it well, we run well. Think about it like the oil in the car… You have to change it in order for your motor to work. And while in therapy a therapist needs you to get all your bases covered so that we don’t miss anything, and we are able to get you over the hump.
  2. Working out feels good! Our bodies secrete hormones and we must learn to listen to out body. The more you work out the better you feel. 1
  3. Our Body actually tells us when we have pain when something is wrong.2 So Listen to it! A lot of us don’t like to listen to our bodies… and that is where going to therapy can come in… they can help you realize why you are not listening to yourself.
  4. Talking about your anger and feelings is great and it helps you gain insight about yourself, but guess what, workout after words helps you not only work though the insight you had in session, more so you get to release it though exercise and think about what insight you gained in your session. You think about what is going on and use the Coping skills, the deep Stuff that you and your therapist came up with to help you through the process.
  5. Last But not least. Therapy and Exercise gets you to a strong point, both mentally and physically. And guess what? The body cannot work with out your brain. With both, You are hitting all your “Weakness” and making them in your strength. You want to be able to work with a whole you, not just a half.

I hope this gives you some insight on Why Therapy and Physical Fitness is important.

Tell us your reasons why you work out and Have a therapist? Tell us how it goes.

Note: We suggest you obtain services. All you work through will be between you and your therapist and fitness coaches. We are NOT liable for your choice. We do however congratulate you on obtaining help. Stay in your positive journey and Enjoy it!

Music and Mood: #MusicMonday

By Jes Sofia Valle, MA MFTI

What a great start to my day!  Hearing Feeling Good By Nina Simone. I always find that starting my day with what I like to call a “SUPERSONG” makes my day so much better. I am up beat and overall, I feel better.  Isn’t it interesting how one song can make your day?

Mood:
Did you know that there is a thing called Music Psychology? Its where various of people who love music and research do what they love, research music and what are the effects on humans.  It has been studied that music of one’s liking has been most effective in increasing positive feelings and decreasing negative feelings. Depending on what you like, calling it designer music. The results of studies on results suggest that designer music may be useful in the treatment of tension, mental distraction, and negative moods (McCraty R, Barrios-Choplin B, Atkinson M, Tomasino D., 1998) .
Health:
In Health, the use of music has also been shown that it helps promote a sense of well-being and to distract  from pain and other unpleasant symptoms, thoughts, and feelings, while being convenient and readily available(Kemper, K. J. MD, MPH; Danhauer, S. C. PHD, 2005). Music helps to improve mood and decrease anxiety, as well as decrease the pain associated with surgery, medical procedures, and chronic conditions; it also helps ease the dying process(Kemper, K. J., 2005). Music may help premature babies to gain weight more quickly (Kemper, K. J., 2005). Music may enhance care-giving behavior (Kemper, K. J., 2005).
Culture:
I must remind you that music with in itself has it’s own culture. It derives from our own cultures, weather you listen to Samba, Jazz, Rap, R&B, Pop, Soul, Neo-Soul…. It all come from everywhere. Some artist say it comes from the drum… I say it comes from where you come from, where you bought it, where you connect to it. Also, where you allow it to go. Music can take you places…its up to you where you let it take you.
Today, I let it take me to my happy mood…
What song gets you in a good mood?
